Terarosa Seogwipo: A Must-Visit Cafe on Jeju Olle Trail 6
As you walk Jeju Olle Trail Course 6, Terarosa appears not long after you start. With its main branch in Gangneung, Terarosa is credited with turning Gangneung into a coffee city, and both its founder and the shop itself are considered to have made a mark on the Korean coffee industry. A branch of this famous cafe sits right in the middle of the Olle Trail. After looking it up a bit, it seems the Seogwipo branch is known for its great coffee, but even more famous for its photo spots. I visited with high expectations.
After browsing some pretty tumblers, I placed my order and sat by the window. It's a great spot to just space out, though the only downside is that it's a bit crowded.
I'm no coffee expert, but it wasn't heavy or mouth-puckeringly sour; it had just the right amount of acidity, making it very enjoyable.
The coffee was so good that I got curious about their espresso and ordered another cup. I messed up my order and got a different drink instead of an espresso, but they replaced it for me at no extra charge. The prices are a bit high, but they definitely offer a level of service and coffee quality that sets them apart from other shops.
I doubt there's a better coffee shop on Olle Trail Course 6 than Terarosa. Once you finish the entire walk, there's Yudong Coffee, or if you walk a bit further, Gyeopgyeopui Uido (a local bakery cafe), but while you're actually on the trail, Terarosa is the only place that comes to mind. It's a slight shame that it appears so soon after you start walking, but it's still a fantastic place to visit.
