Yongmeori Coast in Jeju: A Unique Rocky Shore
As my trip nears its end, I'm slowly getting too lazy to wander around. Plus, after seeing Hallasan (Mount Halla) and Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak)—which delivered a proper visual shock to my brain—my sense of awe is gradually fading. Still, knowing I fly back home tomorrow makes it hard to just sit still. To properly reconcile these completely opposite signals from my body and mind, I decided to visit just one place a day and spend the rest of the time lying down or killing time at a coffee shop.
The single tourist spot I chose for today is Yongmeori Coast. The rocks themselves look fascinating, but more than the rocks, I remember the squads of ajummas (middle-aged women) setting up their mats in noisy, photogenic spots. Just as the description says it's a fantastic combination of lava and waves, the coast itself was truly unique. However, walking on the rocks is a bit dangerous, and it's hard to actually see the shape of a dragon. It looked like there was a cruise ship available, and I feel like it might be better to view the coast from the boat instead.
